Project Information Join our vibrant Platform Development team in an intellectually stimulating environment where you'll collaborate to solve complex challenges on our Software Developer platform, SCP.apps. As a Full-Stack Developer with a testing mindset, you will support the development and quality assurance of our SaaS platform, implementing comprehensive testing strategies and maintaining high-quality code standards.
Qualifications/Experience

• IT Degree and/or relevant qualifications (Required)
• 8+ years of experience in full-stack JavaScript development, or a similar role (Required)
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, such as Agile (Required)
• South African citizens/residents preferred; valid work permit holders considered
• Willing and able to travel internationally if required

Essential Skills Requirements Must have experience/understanding:

• Automated testing using Jest (unit/integration) (Mandatory)
• End-to-end testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright) (Mandatory)
• Strong experience with testing frameworks such as Jest (unit, integration, and mocking) (Mandatory)
• TypeScript / JavaScript (ES6 +) / React (with Typescript) and backend development experience (Mandatory)
• MERN stack + Typescript (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) + postgres (Mandatory) Git (Mandatory)
• Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

Advantageous Skills Requirements

• Docker & Docker Compose CSS and styling frameworks/ Ant Design (antd)
• Redis GraphQL AWS experience, especially ECS and Lambda
• API testing tools: Postman, Insomnia
• Performance testing tools
• Knowledge of X-Ray, Confluence, JIRA Familiarity with LLMs and prompting techniques
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies

Role Requirements

• Testing Strategy: Write, maintain, and optimize automated test suites using Jest and Playwright
• Quality Assurance: Define and drive testing strategy, test case design, and defect management
• Application Development: Design, build, and maintain full-stack features using Node.js, Apollo, React, GraphQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, REST APIs
• UI Development: Implement reusable UI components and secure user flows (authentication, permissions, routing)
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with product owners, testers, and engineers to ensure high-quality releases
• Code Quality: Participate in code reviews and uphold testing standards across the team
• Mentoring: Mentor junior developers and share testing best practices
• Technical Support: Monitor quality metrics, manage risks, and support 2nd/3rd level issue resolution on a rotational basis
• Continuous Learning: Continuously stay updated on tech and testing trends
