We are recruiting for a qualified and highly motivated French Educator. Position overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic educator to join our team, specialising in teaching French as a Foreign Language to students in Years 2 - 9. The successful candidate will excel in fostering basic French competency and French language exposure. This role requires a passion for teaching language and the ability to inspire students to learn. Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Deliver engaging and student-centred lessons aligned with the school's curriculum framework, ensuring that the content meets the needs of a diverse student population. Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, managing student behaviour effectively, and promoting mutual respect among students. Evaluation: Evaluate student progress, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of student performance to inform instructional planning and meet reporting requirements. Individualised Instruction: Identify and address the diverse learning needs and styles of students through differentiated instruction, providing necessary support and challenging opportunities for academic growth. Cross-Cultural Competence: Foster an inclusive and culturally sensitive classroom environment, promoting respect, empathy, and understanding among students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Parent and Community Engagement: Establish effective communication channels with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress, participating in parent-teacher conferences, and collaborating with the community to enhance student learning experiences. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay abreast of educational best practices, innovative teaching techniques, and global trends in education, and actively contribute to the professional learning community within the school. Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with colleagues and participate in team meetings, curriculum development, and school-wide initiatives to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience for all students. Extra-Curricular Programme: Actively contribute to the planning, coordination, and implementation of the school's extra-curricular programme. Offer guidance and support to students participating in various activities, including clubs, sports, arts, music, community service, or other areas of interest. Student Engagement and Mentorship: Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and personal growth. Serve as a mentor and role model, helping students develop leadership skills, teamwork, resilience, and a sense of responsibility. Requirements: Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required. A SACE teaching certification/license is essential, preferably with specialisation in the relevant subject area. Teaching Experience: A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the relevant grade level or in an international school setting is preferred. Instructional Skills: Proven ability to design and implement effective, student-centered instructional strategies, utilising a range of teaching methodologies, technologies, and resources. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues. Technology Integration: Proficiency in integrating educational technology tools and resources into instruction to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Ability to commute/relocate: The Reeds, Centurion. (Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work). A clear criminal record is essential.
