A meat processing facility in the Northern suburbs is looking for a Quality Control Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
1. Co?ordinate, direct and monitor the Quality Control staff in their duties of monitoring the daily production processes and conducting various inspections.
2. Check QC documentation daily during production to assess the accuracy of all QC operations.
3. Oversee the meat thawing and usage process for all meat used in the company's operations.
4. Periodically verify the allergen cleaning as well as foreign object inspections carried out by the QCs.
5. Ensure the correct use of PPE by staff daily.
6. Receive incoming goods against specified requirements, including, but not limited to, meat, spices, packaging and vegetables and report any non-conforming products/new products immediately to the Technical Department.
7. Set and monitor appropriate performance objectives and standards for QCs.
8. Monitor and manage staff absence, ensuring flexible cover is arranged at short notice, and promoting good staff attendance at all times through appropriate absence management techniques as required.
9. Report any defects/equipment failure/non-conformances promptly to the Technical Department for resolution.
10. Communicate with staff at all levels appropriately, including having team briefings and relaying information to the Quality Control staff.
11. Monitor all ingredients used in the factory and request extension letters for any products nearing their shelf-life before the shelf-life ends.
12. Ensure all FSSC 22000 and WW Requirements are adhered to, enabling continued compliance.
13. Compile and submit reports to the Technical Department as required.
14. Support the Technical Department during audits and inspections.
15. Any other duties that may be assigned.
