The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating new opportunities for Food & Beverage Hosts to join our team.
We are seeking professional, guest-focused, and well-presented individuals to join our Food & Beverage service team. The ideal candidates will have recent experience in hotels or upmarket restaurants, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to ensure guests enjoy seamless and memorable dining experiences.
Experience & Requirements
South African citizen with a valid ID (non-negotiable)
At least 2 years experience as a host or waitron in a hotel or upmarket restaurant within the last 2 years
No employment gaps longer than 5 months unless valid reasons are clearly provided
Matric certificate (Grade 12) required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, professional demeanour
Strong guest relations skills, including handling enquiries and reservations
Professional appearance, punctuality, and reliability
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Team player with a strong focus on guest service
Duties & Responsibilities
Welcome and seat guests in the restaurant and ensure smooth table rotation
Manage reservations and coordinate seating plans for optimal service flow
Provide menus, introduce specials, and support the waitron team in delivering high-quality service
Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints with professionalism and care
Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards at the host stand and throughout the dining area
Support restaurant operations, including assisting colleagues in high-volume periods
Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and hotel service standards
