Job Description

A global company is seeking a Fleet Scheduler to manage and coordinate the scheduling of vehicles and drivers. Based in Umbilo.

Requirements:

• Experience as a Fleet Scheduler or similar role.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities

Duties and responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining a schedule for vehicle usage based on demand and availability.
• Coordinating with various departments to determine their transportation needs and scheduling accordingly.
• Assigning drivers to vehicles and routes, considering driver availability.
• Monitoring and tracking vehicle and driver locations and statuses in real-time.
• Optimising routes to minimise mileage, fuel consumption, and overall costs.
• Identifying areas of improvement in fleet operations and implementing strategies to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
• Managing driver communications, including providing instructions, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues or conflicts that arise.
• Generating reports and analysing data related to fleet utilisation, driver performance, and other key metrics.
• Collaborating with the maintenance department to schedule and organise vehicle repairs and maintenance activities.
• Keeping accurate records of vehicle and driver details, including licenses, certifications, and vehicle maintenance history.
