Responsibilities:

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Fitter and Turner to join our team at Worcester Dried Fruit Plant. The ideal candidate will be a qualified artisan with a strong mechanical background and a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable operation of our plant machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on a wide range of plant equipment and machinery Implement and manage safety and food safety standards to ensure a compliant and secure work environment Actively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance systems and standards Execute welding to food safety standards or demonstrate a strong willingness to be trained to that level Adapt to and learn new systems, equipment, and machinery as required Diagnosed faults and repaired machinery and equipment Executed pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical repairs Dismantled, fitted and assembled machinery and parts Performed planned maintenance on machinery and equipment Installed and commissioned machinery and equipment Adhoc maintenance on Forklifts Preventative maintenance of equipment and machinery Managing certain systems and machinery Execute food safety standard of welding on equipment. Stainless steel and mild steel. Being on standby on a rotation basis with the rest of the team Handling call-out when necessary

Qualifications:
Fitter and Turner Technical Trade (N3) is essential 4-5 Years' Experience within the manufacturing environment Valid driver's license Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably within a food production or a related industry A strong understanding of mechanical and operational systems Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently A proactive and innovative approach to work This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is a key role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our operations
