Our client, a significant player in the global health and medicines manufacturing sector, is seeking a technically astute Financial Reporting and Tax guru. This is a pivotal role based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, offering the opportunity to lead the financial reporting and tax compliance functions for a business making a global impact.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end integrity of consolidated group financial statements under IFRS, while acting as the primary custodian of SARS compliance and corporate governance for the group.
Key Technical Delivery

• Group Financial Reporting: Prepare annual individual and consolidated AFS in line with IFRS. Lead the quarterly unaudited consolidation process, including cash flow statements and funder-required schedules.
• SARS & Tax Compliance: Manage provisional and final tax returns, deferred tax, and specialized incentives. You will document rationale for tax treatments and manage all SARS documentation and verification requests.
• Board & Funder Relations: Prepare high-level reporting decks for quarterly Board and Board Committee meetings. Monitor and report on funding covenants and support funder due diligence.
• Systems Leadership: Act as a lead for SAP improvements within the finance department, specifically supporting the implementation of the wear and tear register.
• Mentorship: Coach and develop graduates and junior team members on management accounts and external stakeholder reporting.

What You Need to Bring

• Qualifications: Qualified CA(SA) or equivalent (CIMA may be considered with relevant experience). BCom Degree in Financial Accounting is required.
• Articles: Completed articles are essential.
• Experience: 3+ years of recent post-article experience in a similar Financial Reporting/Tax lead role.
• Technical Skills: Proven experience in drafting consolidated group financial statements (IFRS) and managing complex tax returns (including wear and tear and tax incentives).
• Systems: Proficiency in SAP and advanced MS Excel is non-negotiable.
