22/07/2025We are looking for a motivated and focused candidate with a keen interest in the commodity environment to join and lead our Financial Operations team that will support the Financial Operations team located London.
The main tasks and responsibilities include:
Lead and support a team of 5 team members, ensuring compliance with control environment, consistent application of policies and procedures as well as timely processing of transactions to meet business requirements.
Maintain and develop good relationships with our headquarter Financial Operations team and other front office stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of new processes and procedures.
Ensuring resolution of any day-to-day operational issues and escalations.
Building relationships both internally and externally to create and support business information flow.
Liaising with internal desks/teams, in particular Treasury, operations and risk management, on the resolution of settlement disputes.
Monitor and resolve queries from external parties escalating where required.
Ensure adherence to the Finance Operations processes and all counterparty, billing and settlement information is in line with company policy.
Support with conducting regular reviews and updates of the internal processes within the Finance Operations function.
Proactively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the scope of Finance Operations, to drive efficiency and improved performance.
Meet KPI's and performance targets allocated to your area.
Provide review and commentary to team reporting and analytics.
Support the manager with periodic and ad hoc management reporting.
Keep up to date with Glencore's procedures and policies and ensure communication to their designated team.
Qualifications and requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; or similar.
Sound experience in an accounting or internal control function.
Knowledge of commodity trading environment is beneficial.
Previous experience in a management or team leadership position.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel
English language ability, both written and spoken.
