11/07/2025We are looking for a motivated and focused candidate with a keen interest in the commodity environment to join and lead our Financial Operations team that will support the Financial Operations team located in our Headquarters, and the Marketing Finance department.

Key Stakeholders

Marketing Finance Team. Marketing front office operations team for Zinc Copper Department.

The main tasks and responsibilities include:


Lead and support a team of 5 team members, ensuring compliance with control environment, consistent application of policies and procedures as well as timely processing of transactions to meet business requirements.
Maintain and develop good relationships with our headquarter Financial Operations team and other front office stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of new processes and procedures.
Validate provisional/final sales and purchase invoices against supporting documentation in collaboration with the Front office operations team.
Validation of hedge settlements.
Capture and review Service Provider invoices
Prepare invoices for settlement, ensuring internal control and compliance requirements are adhered to.
Validate and approve payments.
Co-ordinate and follow up on settlement execution.
Netting/offsetting invoices where required in collaboration with the front office operations team
Follow up on invoice/settlement counterparty queries
Support Corporate Finance Operations in resolving unapplied cash queries.
In collaboration with other financial operations teams, identify and implement financial operations best practice, including processes and internal controls enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy and automation.
Perform user-acceptance testing on system enhancements that are implemented and co-ordinate the enablement of such enhancements.
Keep up to date with Glencore's procedures and policies and ensure communication to their designated team.

Qualifications and requirements:


Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; or similar.
Chartered Accountant (SA) or a similar postgraduate Honours degree in Accounting or Financial Management is highly advantageous.
Sound experience of commodity trading invoicing and settlement, accounting and internal controls for large corporations.
Working knowledge of commodity trading systems and invoicing to ERP integration.
Previous experience in a management or team leadership position.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel.
Advanced English language ability, both written and spoken.
