Purpose of position:
Delivering strategic financial oversight in planning, reporting, and modelling.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing financial operations
Driving financial planning
Providing strategic analysis to support business growth and long-term value creation
Driving financial performance aligned with the company's strategic objectives
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualifications (BCom/BCom Honours Preferable)
A minimum of 5 years' short term Insurance experience
In-depth knowledge of insurance finance (short-term and/or life), including underwriting results, claims trends, reserving, and capital
Strategic financial planning and budgeting experience
Strong understanding of financial reporting standards (e.g. IFRS 17)
Understanding of tax, treasury, reinsurance, and investment operations and analysis
Understanding of insurance financials, reserving, and capital requirements
Proficiency in Excel and financial systems/tools
Multilingual (advantageous)
Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
Skills and Attributes:
Strong leadership and people management abilities
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
Strong commercial acumen
High proficiency in financial modelling, reporting tools, and ERP systems.
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
Strong financial modelling and valuation skills.
Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to analyse complex data and present insights clearly.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
