Job Summary Financial Manager - Luxury Hotel & Winery | Franschhoek Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Financial Manager for a luxury hotel and vineyard in Franschhoek. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the full financial management function of the property, driving operational efficiencies, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting executive decision-making across hospitality and winery operations. Requirements: o BCom Accounting or equivalent degree o Completion of SAICA articles o Minimum 5 years' post-article experience in financial management or senior accounting o Experience in the hospitality industry advantageous, including knowledge of restaurant Point of Sale and Property Management Systems o Proficient knowledge of Sage X3 o Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills o Commercially minded with strategic outlook and hands-on operational awareness o Excellent organisational, administrative, and time management skills o Proactive, results-oriented, with high attention to detail o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to lead and mentor a team Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management o Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting accountability, accuracy, and service excellence o Set clear goals, provide coaching, and drive continuous improvement o Build cross-departmental financial awareness and support non-financial managers Financial Management & Reporting o Oversee full financial accounting function, including journals, reconciliations, month-end, management accounts, and intercompany transactions o Manage financial systems according to business and reporting needs o Drive profitability through review of departmental cost structures, margins, and yields o Present financial insights, forecasts, and variance analysis to the General Manager and Heads of Department o Produce detailed monthly financial reports segmented by department (Rooms, F&B, Spa, Winery, Retail) Budgeting & Forecasting o Lead annual budgeting and forecast cycles with Heads of Department o Analyze variances between budgets, actuals, forecasts, KPIs, and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization Operational Finance & Controls o Implement and monitor internal controls across all departments, including cash handling, stock management, and procurement o Manage cash flow and stock reporting, including journals and reconciliation o Oversee restaurant POS and hotel PMS integrations o Maintain Fixed Asset Register and Capex control schedule Compliance & Auditing o Manage internal and external audits, ensuring processes comply with best practices o Ensure compliance with VAT, Income Tax, PAYE, UIF, SDL, and other statutory obligations o Liaise with external auditors, SARS, and financial institutions o Maintain accurate and timely statutory reporting and audit readiness o Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and group reporting standards Package: o Competitive remuneration (negotiable depending on experience) o Opportunity to work in a prestigious luxury hotel and vineyard environment To apply for the Financial Manager role, please send your updated CV, reference letters, qualifications, and a recent head & shoulders photo today Please note: Due to the high volume of applications, only candidates meeting the listed requirements will be contacted.
