Our client is a leading logistics company specialising in high-volume transport solutions for the agricultural, mining, and FMCG sectors. Operating a branded fleet and managing subcontractors, they deliver flexible logistical services across South Africa and SADC countries through specialised divisions, including tipper bulk, flatdeck, lowbed, tautliner, and container transport. This role is based in their home office in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.
Role Overview
We are seeking a CIMA or CA(SA) qualified Finance Manager with extensive experience to lead the financial operations of multiple companies within the group. The successful candidate will drive strategic financial management, oversee budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, and thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. Experience in the logistics sector is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts for multiple companies.
Oversee financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow management.
Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, trial balances, and financial statements for audits.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, SARS regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Manage payroll processes and statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, UIF).
Analyse financial data to identify trends, optimise costs, and support strategic decisions.
Liaise with auditors and manage relationships with external financial stakeholders.
Provide leadership in financial planning and risk management across the group.
Qualifications and Experience
CIMA or CA(SA) qualification (essential).
Minimum of 10 years' financial management experience, preferably in a multi-company environment.
Logistics or transport industry experience (highly advantageous).
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and SARS compliance.
Proficiency in Sage Pastel Accounting, Microsoft Excel, and financial management software.
Excellent data analysis and forecasting skills.
High proficiency in English and Afrikaans (reading and writing).
Valid driver's licence and own vehicle (essential).
