Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS and regulatory requirements
• Assist with financial statement preparation and annual audit processes, ensuring compliance with insurance industry standards
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, including variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership
• Monitor and analyze underwriting results, claims ratios, and loss trends, providing insight into financial performance
• Liaise with internal and external Auditors, regulatory bodies (e.g., FSCA, and SARB), and ensure that all reporting deadlines are met
• Manage cash flow and investment reporting, ensuring that funds are allocated in line with solvency and liquidity requirements
• Assist with regulatory submissions, including Solvency Assessment and Management (SAM) reporting and returns
• Contribute to financial controls and process improvements, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the finance function
• Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to align financial outcomes with business performance

Experience and Skills Required:

• CA(SA)
• Either audited the insurance industry, or 1-2 years post-articles experience in the insurance industry
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Proactive and able to work independently
