Job Description

Purpose of the Role



To support the Head of Finance in managing the company's accounting operations, including the preparation of periodic financial reports, maintaining a robust system of accounting records, and implementing comprehensive controls and budgets to mitigate risk. The role also focuses on improving the accuracy of the company's financial reporting and ensuring compliance.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for this Role (including, but not limited to):



Support the oversight of accounting department operations by designing and maintaining a structure that effectively records and processes daily transactions, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives. Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for finance staff, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and training to excel in their roles. Oversee production processes and procedures to ensure production targets are consistently achieved. Drive and implement initiatives for continuous improvement across finance and operational functions. Assist in managing core financial accounting activities, including inventory, debtors, creditors, VAT, fixed assets, general ledger, taxation, cash flow, and insurance. Review and submit weekly and monthly financial results. Prepare and submit monthly management accounts. Compile quarterly board packs for presentation. Lead budgeting and forecasting processes. Monitor, analyze, and interpret cash flows while predicting future financial trends. Ensure strong governance and compliance practices by continuously enhancing internal controls. Oversee performance management within the finance team, including KPI setting and progress reviews. Manage finance-related systems and internal control frameworks. Support the management of net working capital and foreign exchange exposure. Prepare provisional and income tax computations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Ensure full compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to various ad hoc projects as required.

Effective people management abilities, fostering collaboration and accountability. Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of personal discipline and integrity. Strong organizational and planning skills, with a results-driven mindset. Reliable, trustworthy, and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience



Demonstrated knowledge related to Accounting and Enterprise Systems, Taxation legislation, etc. Minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience within a similar role. Experience within the FMCG environment would be advantageous
