Job Description

Leading distributor of energy solutions within South Africa and cross border requires a Financial Manager (Durban) who will be responsible for the company's sustained long-term financial health and growth.
Key Functions

• Lead and manage all finance functions within the organisation to maintain a healthy financial position and meet the prescribed accounting guidelines.
• Manage and upskill the finance/accounting team.
• Prepare a summary of month-end accounts
• Ensure the annual financial reports are in order at year end
• Manage forecasts and plan budgets across multiple departments/divisions.
• Forecast future needs using a long-term planning process to improve company performance.
• Assess, manage, and minimize risk.
• Analyze complex financial data.
• Set financial targets
• Support senior stakeholders on all business reviews.
• Analyze and report on financial performance.
• Develop and implement accounting/admin policies and improving financial processes.
• Manage internal controls.
• Manage overall insurance portfolio
• Engage with investors & landlords
• Direct and develop financial planning and strategy.
• Conduct feasibility studies
• Monitor expenditure.
• Monitor cash flow & hedging of forex
• Evaluate investments opportunities
• Oversee audit and tax functions and ensure compliance
• Manage debt
• Ensure compliance with accounting regulations.
• Forex analysis and forward cover management
• Scrutinize all legal contracts including supplier agreements, building leases, our own distribution agreements with our customers, local contracts including Fleet
• Conducting Internal audits at branch level from a financial and stock position
• Manage Treasury and Forex

Key Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant - CA(SA)
• Minimum 15 years' experience in similar role
• Proven track record of having dealt with importing and exporting and dealing with exchange rates/forex.
• Proven track record of advising and guiding in money investment
• Proven track record of successful forecasting and budgeting
• Cash flow management experience
• Accounting software knowledge and experience
• Excellent knowledge of accounting standards
• Know how to interpret complex financial information
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Exceptional numerical proficiency
• Financial reporting experience
• Statutory reporting experience
