Fruitways is a leading agri-business in South Africa. We specialise in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.
FINANCIAL MANAGER: COMMERCIAL
We are looking for a self-motivated, driven and competent Financial Manager who has an in-depth understanding of accounting principles, grower payments pooling principles and forex transactions in a complex environment. This position reports to the General Manager: Commercial and is based at our offices in Somerset West, Western Cape.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full accounting function for local and international fruit sales
- Manage grower payment processes, including cost recovery, forecasting, and settlements with contracting packing facilities.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and financial reports
- Lead and develop the commercial accounting team, driving efficient, scalable structures and continuous process improvement.
- Provide management oversight of the operational systems for fruit sales activities.
- Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the debtors function and effective credit and risk management to support the cash flow requirements.
- Chartered Accountant (CASA)
- Minimum of 5-8 years combined SAIPA/SAICA articles and commercial accounting experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in managing a team of accountants
- Advanced application of complex accounting principles
- Advanced Excel and data skills
- Attention to detail and driven to succeed
