Job Description

We are looking for a recently qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with a keen eye for detail and a passion for building strong financial foundations. This position will support the Financial Manager in driving accurate financial reporting, budget control, and compliance across our construction-related operations. It's an excellent opportunity for a junior finance professional ready to take ownership and grow within a fast-paced, project-based environment.
Responsibilitiies
Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts.
Tracking and analysing project-level costing and profitability.
Supporting budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
Conducting reconciliations for bank accounts, creditors, debtors, and inter-company transactions.
Managing supplier payments and customer accounts.
Ensuring compliance with IFRS, tax legislation (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax), and statutory submissions.
Supporting year-end audits and audit readiness.
Maintaining the fixed asset register and managing depreciation schedules.
Assisting with cash flow forecasting and working capital monitoring.
Providing financial insights to guide operational and strategic decisions.
Working with site managers and quantity surveyors to ensure accuracy in project cost reporting.
Enhancing and upholding financial controls and internal processes.
Requirements
Professionally qualified: Registered CA(SA) with up to 2 years' post-article experience.
Analytical, with a strong grasp of numbers and financial reporting.
Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations and compliance.
Communicative, with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
Organised, capable of handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
