Benguela Cove Wine Estate is seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Manager to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and possess strong commercial and financial management skills. While experience in the hospitality or liquor industry will be an advantage, it is not essential. This role requires a strategic thinker with solid experience in stock management, costing, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the daily financial operations of the estate.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
Control and monitor stock levels, valuations, and related costs.
Implement and maintain effective costing systems to ensure profitability.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
Provide financial insights and support to management for decision-making.
Manage cash flow, banking, and creditor/debtor processes.
Coordinate with different departments to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
Assist with audit preparations and liaise with external auditors.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Proven experience in a financial management role with strong commercial acumen.
Strong exposure to stock control and costing.
Excellent understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
Hands-on approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
Experience in the liquor or hospitality industry (advantageous but not essential).
Knowledge of relevant financial software and systems.
