Financial Controller (Plant) - DurbanA leading company in the automotive manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced and energetic Financial Controller to join their dynamic team in Durban. The incumbent will be taking over from a retiring Financial Controller, who will be available for a handover. This is a fast-paced environment with numerous deadlines, so we are seeking someone who thrives under pressure and takes initiative. To compile and provide accurate and timeous financial information to Plant Management in order to support informed business decision-making.Educational Requirements:Grade 12National Diploma or in Financial or related qualificationBCom Accounting, , or CIMA will be advantageousMinimum 5 years' experience in a similar roleKey Responsibilities:Financial Management & Analysis:Provide financial analysis and support across all operational areasMonitor and support debtors and creditorsMaintain fixed asset register and intercompany balancesReview payroll, financial variances (budget/forecast), and balance sheet variancesEnsure compliance with IFRSMaintain CAPEX & Tooling ReportsGenerate reports for internal/external useInternal Control:Comply with and maintain internal controlsMaintain and review the Risk RegisterBudgeting & Forecasting:Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processesPrepare plant budgets, P/L and balance sheet forecastsFinancial Reporting:Prepare monthly BU/Plant Financial PackCompile BU/Plant Flash Results and variance analysisWeekly Sales Reporting:Compile and review weekly sales reportsGeneral Ledger:Prepare provisions, accruals, royalties schedules, and journalsCompile general ledger reconciliationsCAPEX & Tooling:Maintain CAPEX and tooling registersPrepare CAPEX requisitionsConduct asset life and value analysisMaintain tooling reportsAudits:Plan and prepare for year-end external/internal auditsPrepare for royalty auditsCosting:Calculate landed costsReview DA 190, investigate PPVs, and generate variance reportsStock Control:Compile daily stock reports, oversee stock takes, and investigate variancesCash Management:Monitor and manage plant cash flowOversee daily cash positions and FEC contractsPeople Management:Lead and manage team performanceIdentify and provide training needsMaintain discipline and resolve grievancesSHE Compliance:Identify and address safety hazardsPromote a safe working environmentPlease note due to high volume responses, only candidates that meet the advertised criteria will be contacted.
