Financial Assistant Manufacturing
Pietermaritzburg - Kwa Zulu Natal - South AfricaA well-established manufacturing company based in Pietermaritzburg seeks a detail-oriented Financial Assistant to support its Accounts Department. Reporting to the Accountant, the successful incumbent will be key in maintaining accurate financial data, processing payments, handling payroll functions, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. This role requires a proactive individual with a sound grasp of accounting processes and the ability to work precisely in a deadline-driven environment.Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting
- Proven experience in a financial or accounting support role
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems (e.g., Pastel Payroll)
- Excellent command of written and verbal English
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or payroll environment
- Ability to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
- Daily bank statement processing and reconciliations
- Processing sundry and ad hoc payments
- Managing payroll and wage costing (weekly)
- Posting integration corrections and resolving errors
- Handling provident fund withdrawals and medical aid returns
- Compiling cell phone and finance schedules (Stannic)
- Maintaining attendance and leave registers
- Preparing and posting standard monthly journals
