Financial Assistant
Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Financial Assistant to support the daily operations of a fast-paced finance department within a well-established company based in Pietermaritzburg. This role is ideally suited to a proactive individual eager to make a meaningful contribution to the continued growth and success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Daily processing of bank statements and performing reconciliations
Handling sundry and ad hoc payments
Managing daily integration postings and correcting integration errors
Processing weekly wages using Pastel Payroll
Compiling wage costing statistics
Assisting with provident fund withdrawals and claims
Preparing and reviewing cell phone reports
Submitting medical aid returns
Maintaining monthly attendance records and updating leave registers
Preparing monthly Stannic finance schedules and standard journals
Providing general support to the Accounts Department
Assisting with ad hoc finance projects
Reporting directly to the Accountant
Requirements & Skills
Degree or Diploma in Accounting
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Professional communication skills in English
Proficiency in accounting systems (Pastel experience is advantageous)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Experience in payroll and general finance functions
