Job Description

A well-established organization operating in a high-pressure, operationally complex industry (such as FMCG, Building & Construction, or Engineering) is seeking an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to join its finance leadership team.
This role requires a seasoned, articulate, and resilient finance professional who is comfortable operating in demanding environments and managing both people and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Statements

• Oversee and manage accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Preparation and review of statutory financial statements in line with IFRS
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies

Operational & Contract Accounting

• Managing billing variations, work-in-progress (WIP), and revenue recognition
• Accounting for long-term contracts, including forecasting and margin analysis
• Monitoring project performance and financial outcomes

Working Capital & Team Management

• Oversight and management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
• Ensuring efficient cash flow management, accurate billing, and timely collections
• Implementing controls and improving processes across AP and AR functions

Capex & Cost Control

• Managing capital expenditure, asset registers, and depreciation
• Driving strict cost control measures and variance analysis
• Supporting operational teams with financial insights to improve profitability

Leadership & Governance

• Providing mature, well-reasoned financial guidance to senior management
• Maintaining a strong internal control environment
• Supporting audits and liaising with external auditors

Minimum Requirements

• CA(SA) qualification -- essential
• Proven experience in FMCG, construction, engineering, or similarly demanding industries
• Strong people-management experience, particularly within AP and AR teams
• Excellent communication skills; well spoken and professionally composed
• Ability to thrive in a structured, office-based environment
