M-Sure is seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and highly skilled team.


The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Manager.

Key Purpose

The Financial Accountant (Insurance) contributes to the company's goals by providing financial support aligned to the company's strategy. This role entails an intense focus on the reconciliation of data - attention to detail and accuracy is critical.

DUTIES/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Month-End Deliverables (within required deadlines) + Preparation of bordereaux and accounting schedules
+ Preparation of cashbook
+ Posting of journals
+ System reconciliations
+ Bank reconciliations
+ Balance sheet reconciliations
+ Underwriter reconciliations
+ Preparation and distribution of management accounts
+ Ensure accounting for the deliverables from other departments within finance:
- Credit Control
- Commissions
- Claim payments
+ Attend to ad hoc queries
+ Assist in budget and forecast cycles
+ Attend to multiple internal and external audits throughout the year
+ Assist in the identification of internal control weaknesses and suggest/implement improvements
+ Provide financial analysis and insights in support of business decision making needs

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Matric Prefer B. Com. degree with accounting major or similar Experience in MS GreatPlains (GP) and GRID preferable System accounting experience is an advantage Insurance experience advantageous Minimum 5 years post-graduation experience
