Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a

Finance Systems Analyst

within our

Finance Systems Team

! This position will be based at our offices in

Cape Town, Kuilsriver

and will report directly to the

Finance Systems Manager.




The Finance System Analyst will be responsible to ensure that the Finance systems requirements are implemented by defining and analysing system problems, testing standards and solutions; and providing knowledge sharing and support to all business users.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:



Essential:



Knowledge of month end reporting i.e. Accruals, Journals, Financial and Administrative reporting. Knowledge of financial processes Knowledge of SQL queries and reports

Preferred:




A good understanding of retail business processes

SKILLS REQUIRED:



Planning, organising and time management skills Big-picture thinking skills Good judgment together with a sound decision-making ability Excellent relationship-building, facilitation, networking and communication skills.

Advanced proficiency in:



Excel SQL

A strong:



detailed analytical and problem-solving ability customer-focus and service-orientation

The ability to:



be deadline and results-driven take initiative, reason logically and be creative in developing and introducing new ideas work independently, as well as within a team be assertive interpret and understand customer needs and translate these into technical specifications and operational requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



Essential:



3 years Finance system administration experience Experience in providing user support and analysing business processes SQL queries and analysing data

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:



Essential:



A Degree in Business Information Systems, Accounting or similar

Preferred:



Certification in SAP

Key Responsibilities:



1) System Availability



Monitoring user activity and system performance across all business units, providing support to correct deviations. Highlighting potential cross-functional risks and opportunities to the Finance Teams and suggesting initiatives to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities

2) System enhancements



Defines application problem by conferring with clients, evaluating processes and procedures Proposals for process & systems efficiencies (SAP, Best, SAP intergrator, Solman, Approval Framework/Procurement, Segregation of duties access) Propose solutions by preparing and evaluating workflow optimisations solutions

3) User Support



Ensures operation by knowledge sharing and providing support to all stakeholders Queries/Calls Logged are managed Second Line SAP User Support (Investigative type of support)

4) Adhoc
