Job Description

NACOSA is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join its Finance team. The Finance Officer will support the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing donor financial reports, and ensuring adherence to donor financial policies and procedures.
The duties and responsibilities of the finance officer will include, but not limited to:

  • Support the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual donor financial reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and documentation.
  • Monitor implementing partners' financial reports to ensure compliance with donor and organisational requirements.
  • Conduct financial site visits and provide guidance on internal controls, governance, and reporting.
  • Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and expenditure monitoring.
  • Provide financial mentoring and capacity-building to implementing partners to strengthen financial controls.
  • Support audit processes and respond to queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all financial activities are compliant with NACOSA policies, donor requirements, and relevant legislation.
Required qualifications, skills and experience
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Finance /Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an accounting position.
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Excel, and basic Word and Power Point, E-mails, Internet.
  • Fluent in English and a local language (written and spoken).
  • Proven experience in mentoring and training.
  • Strong understanding of financial compliance, donor regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, Pastel, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
