FINANCE MANAGER - Pharmaceutical Industry
Location: Parktown, Johannesburg
Reporting to: Head of Finance
Direct Reports: 3
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring financial health, operational efficiency, and strategic growth within the pharmaceutical sector. This position is responsible for financial planning, cash flow management, data-driven analysis, and compliance, contributing to overall business performance and profitability.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education

• CA (SA) or CIMA (Preference for candidates from UCT, UJ, University of Pretoria, or Wits).

Experience

• 5-10 years post-articles experience in financial management.
• Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and financial modeling.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management experience.

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Planning & Analysis

• Oversee monthly management reports, including variance analysis, to assess financial health and support strategic decision-making.
• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to drive profitability.
• Prepare financial forecasts and annual budgets aligned with corporate goals

Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization

• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations to streamline processes and reduce costs.
• Leverage financial modeling and data analytics to enhance resource utilization.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Strategic Financial Management

• Support senior leadership with financial insights for decision-making.
• Evaluate investment opportunities and assess financial impact.
• Develop and execute strategies to maximize profitability and shareholder value.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

• Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure financial stability.
• Optimize financial resources through effective cash management strategies.

Annual Financial Audits & Compliance

• Lead annual audits, liaising with auditors and preparing financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and financial reporting standards.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
