Key Role:
Manage various operations providing commercial and financial oversight in Africa (9 countries other than South Africa in Africa).
Maintain appropriate communication channels between finance, operations and leadership.
Perform ad-hoc financial task as requested and within reason.
Key Responsibilities:
The incumbent would ideally have had significant experience in all or some of the requirements as noted below which are core to our business:
Commercial/Finance:
Work closely with the WSP Financial Director and EMIA Commercial Director to manage LBI operations in Africa (9 countries other than South Africa).
Work closely with accounting staff, service providers and auditors to ensure tax and statutory compliance.
Managing ongoing statutory and tax audits.
Were possible close out all dormant entities and bank accounts no longer in use.
Collection of outstanding accounts receivable, bonds and guarantees from clients where projects are completed and as per contractual agreement.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and controls in countries where projects are still ongoing.
Take responsibility of all operating bank accounts and ensure controls are in place for payment on an ongoing basis.
Where there are no operations in a country, close out the statutory accounts, tax filings and bank accounts timeously.
Prepare budgets/forecasts for all operations where necessary.
Perform ad-hoc financial task as requested and within reason.
Essential Job Functions
Travel into Africa is essential
Previous experience operating in various Africa Countries (other than South Africa) compulsory
Ability to work with translators where local language is not in English.
Commercial understanding of closing out operations and managing audits in Africa.
Ability to communicate with senior leadership in WSP on current process and status per country.
Formulate plans for dealing with any issues that arise per African entities.
General
Contribute to additional projects, initiatives, or responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time, in alignment with evolving business priorities.
Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, and undertake any additional tasks necessary to uphold the integrity of the finance function.

Qualifications And Experience Required:
CASA/CIMA with more than 10 years relevant experience
Experience working on Oracle is advantageous
