Job Description

1. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare accurate financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accounting standards.
  • Manage financial audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Analyse financial trends and make recommendations for improvement.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Monitor performance against budgets and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies.
3. Cash Flow and Risk Management
  • Oversee cash flow management to ensure the company's liquidity needs are met.
  • Identify potential financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Manage investments, financing activities and debt management.
4. Financial Strategy
  • Contribute to the development of the company's long term financial strategies.
  • Analyse financial performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth.
  • Support decision making with financial data and analysis for new business ventures or product launches.
5. Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals.
  • Develop team skills and improve processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure the team meets key performance indicators (KPIs) and department goals.
6. Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Stay updated on changes to financial regulations, tax laws and accounting standards.
7. Collaboration with other departments
  • Work closely with different departments to understand financial implications of their decisions.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to support business initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
  • +5 years FMCG experience
  • 2 years of experience in financial management, accounting or related areas.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, reporting tools, and Syspro.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Financial Software.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
