Job Purpose
The Financial Manager will oversee the full spectrum of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance. This role is critical in driving strategic financial decisions and supporting business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting.
Comprehensive knowledge of financial statements, including detailed reviews to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
Monitor financial performance, analyze trends, and identify areas for cost savings or growth.
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure financial integrity and safeguard company assets.
Strategic Planning & Advisory
Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned to business objectives.
Deliver financial insights and business modelling to support data-driven decision-making.
Perform risk assessments and scenario analysis for new initiatives and business expansion.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the annual budget planning process and create rolling financial forecasts.
Align budgets to performance targets and strategic goals.
Provide variance analysis and suggest corrective actions where necessary.
Tax Compliance & Auditing
Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax.
Manage internal and external audits, coordinating documentation and audit readiness.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of financial principles including accounting, budgeting, and analysis
Advanced skills in excel
Proficient in reporting, with advantage to experience reporting to a group environment with tools such as Power BI, Qlikview etc.
Deep understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and relevant South African tax laws.
Advanced skills in financial software (e.g., AccPac or similar ERP).
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability.
Strong communication skills to effectively present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA SA)
Completed SAICA articles at a reputable firm
Minimum 5-7 years post-articles experience in a senior financial role
