Job Description


Our client, a national leading supplier in their industry, currently seeks a qualified Chartered Accountant to manage the Financial, Administrative, Governance and Commercial functions for the Business Unit in line with divisional objectives.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Qualified CA (SA).
  • CIMA qualification an advantage.
  • Min. 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a similar role
  • Commercial experience.
The Job:
Report directly to the General Manager:
  • Strategy:
  • Participate in formulation and implementation of the Business Unit financial and commercial strategy.
  • General Financial & Commercial Management:
  • Provide financial analysis and support to management and all operational areas of the business.
  • Participate in negotiations with customers and suppliers in order to achieve the agreed strategy.
  • Commercial Management:
  • Prepare and review detailed product costing analysis for all new parts.
  • Analyse all current parts and make recommendations for the financial recovery on distressed parts.
  • Calculate and propose potential price increases.
  • Lead all negotiations with customers regarding part pricing and requested increases.
  • Lead all negotiations with major raw material vendors regarding part pricing and requested increases.
  • Review DA 190 (Declaration of imported components and Raw Materials).
  • Review royalty calculations.
  • Manage Government grant applications.
  • Manage & review tooling account.
  • Internal Control:
  • Compile and update the Risk Register.
  • Manage and comply with Internal Controls.
  • Reporting - Budgets/Forecasts:
  • Prepare and review operational, sales and commercial budgets.
  • Review and prepare sales, cost of sales, and operational forecasts.
  • Review weekly sales reports and manage sales margins.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Review monthly BU financial pack and identify variances.
  • Review the divisional Flash results and action variances.
  • Capex:
  • Analyse the Divisional Flash Reports and review the BU Capex reports.
  • Review project appraisals and valuations.
  • Review Capex Spend.
  • Audits and Year-End Processes:
  • Prepare and plan year-end statutory audit (external and internal) in line with the consolidated audit plan.
  • Review year-end reporting Accounting and Tax packs.
  • Draft financial statements (income statements and balance sheets) for legal entities.
  • Follow up and action audits findings.
  • Prepare and update Corporate Tax schedules.
  • Banking:
  • Manage banking systems.
  • Release all bank payments and transfers.
  • Stock Control:
  • Monitor and review stock holdings.
  • Review all stock journals (adjustments).
  • Review stock ageing and assess provisions for slow moving/obsolete stock.
  • Debtors Management:
  • Manage credit risk (debtors)
  • Monitor and control credit notes
