As Finance Business Partner, you will manage the Opex reporting process and balance sheet oversight, while working closely with Exco and senior stakeholders to provide financial insights, risk management, and strategic decision-making support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Opex reporting process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and meaningful commentary on results
  • Manage budget and forecast processes for support areas, providing strategic support to Exco and driving cost-saving initiatives
  • Oversee balance sheet management, implementing controls, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely query resolution
  • Act as central point of contact for audit processes, GIA findings, and accounting policies within the business unit
  • Drive working capital management, cash flow forecasting, and IFRS17 Opex allocation in collaboration with actuarial teams
  • Support BEE compliance by monitoring targets, liaising with Group Finance, and ensuring accurate procurement and ESD reporting
Job Experience and Skills Required:
  • BCom Honours or CIMA (studying toward)
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a senior finance role, with proven exposure to strategic business partnering
  • Insurance industry experience is essential (Life Insurance preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial and management accounting, and insurance-specific technical accounting
  • Advanced MS Office skills (knowledge of Great Plains advantageous)
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting
  • Strong relationship-building and change management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Our Non-Negotiables:
  • 8 years' experience in the Insurance sector (Life Insurance preferred)
  • IFRS 17 exposure and hands-on experience
  • Mature leadership background with at least 4 years in direct leadership, managing a team of 8 members
