WHAT YOUR TYPICAL DAY COULD LOOK LIKE

This mornings stand up highlights a problem with a supplier reconciliation raised by the auditors that must be dealt with by a team member. You sit with your team to analyse the issue and give the auditors a response. You can move onto that other big-ticket item, month end prep.

You put your headphones on and set about refreshing your month end templates, fixing the formulas from last month and checking on what can be improved. You check on the latest Excel features on YouTube and try to apply it to your template, boom it works. Awesome!

You grab a meeting room to take the accountant through the reconciling items on one of our major suppliers. The two of you agree on a way forward with the supplier and the communication to follow. It is sorted out. Good work!

The rest of the day is dedicated to processing the weeks expense claims and collecting outstanding credit card slips from the business. Boom! You get it done 20 minutes earlier than planned, so you head to the canteen for a cup of Java. After your coffee you look through the new supplier onboarding template the finance team is about to rollout. You do a last-minute check on the supplier inbox for any incoming queries. Awesome day!

Today was a good day. Tomorrow will be too.
