Job Description

Position Purpose:

To ensure optimal performance and reliability of Astec equipment by commissioning, training, performing diagnostics and providing technical support. The role focuses on minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance, root cause analysis and effective communication with customers while maintaining a strong safety-first approach.

Duties and Responsibilities

:

Commissioning of equipment that includes pre-delivery inspections and hot (operational and at customer site) commissioning. Conducts operator skills training including but not limited to start up sequence, troubleshooting, electrical and mechanical basics and operations Performs diagnostic evaluations and analysis on Astec equipment System functionality and interactions of hydraulics, mechanics, electric & automation Frequent equipment inspections for maintaining optimum performance and downtime prevention. Conduct root cause analysis / Technical support remotely to identify and solve problems as a first line support. Communicate with customers regarding equipment performance issues, time required to repair, etc. Delivers and prepares machine documentation / Field reports to aid in identifying root cause of service issues Follow up with customers and internal personnel as needed to resolve service issues to completion. Proficient in reading and interpreting maintenance manuals, drawings, schematics for electrical, hydraulic and diesel engine issues Set up and conduct tests under operational conditions with the purpose of correcting or improving performance and other factors Providing daily feedback to the service supervisor / Service Administrator and or Client Preparing for scheduled service jobs with clients Completing inspection sheets for service utility vehicle and tools to ensure that it is safe and up to date. Completing formal reports pertaining to failures or assessments conducted on Astec Equipment. Conducting all duties with a Safety centric approach for own safety as well as any participating team members. Ensuring Compliance to QMS standards.

Qualifications:

Qualified Red Seal Artisan- Millwright. Strong demonstrated knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and instrumentation systems Maintenance & trouble shootings methods. The person must be in possession of a valid Code B (or higher) driver's license.

Experience:

At least 8 years' experience in Mobile Crushing, Screening & Construction Equipment. At least 8 years' experience with, Electrical, Hydraulics and Instrumentation repair experience. Experience Heavy engineering / Mining equipment preferred. Troubleshooting and repair of Electrical, hydraulic and mechanical equipment required. Blueprint, electrical and hydraulic schematic reading, and interpretation skills.

Professional verbal communication when expressing ideas, criticisms and concerns in a way that promotes teamwork and a positive work environment. Must be able to obtain a medical COF / competency training certification in accordance with Astec and client requirements. Manual dexterity to perform efficiently, accurately and productively to keep up with service schedule requirements and workload. Willing to travel excessively and work overtime. Advanced mechanical, Hydraulic & Electrical aptitude. Capacity to learn quickly, detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and positive. Flexible and adaptable in coping with pressures, deadline sand rapidly changing situations. Represents Astec in a positive, consistent and professional manner at all times with a variety of internal/external customers, vendors, & suppliers. Ability to analyse situation for safety factors and perform repair or maintenance work or operate service vehicle in a safe manner at all times. Trustworthy and dependable as the role requires independent work.

Computer Proficiency

:

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Other:

Ability to work independently and un-supervised on ad-hoc scheduled jobs as well as projects.
