POSITION INFO:
A globally renowned company that designs and manufactures high-speed packaging and bottling equipment is seeking a Field Sales Representative to join their South African team based in Lanseria, Johannesburg. The company services clients across the Sub-Saharan Africa region with a focus on engineering excellence and strong after-sales support in the beverage industry.
Purpose of the Role:
To actively identify, pursue, and convert sales opportunities, supporting strategic growth targets by promoting a comprehensive portfolio of equipment, services, and solutions to customers in the beverage and packaging sector. This is a customer-facing, target-driven role requiring strong technical and industry knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the achievement of overall sales targets as a core member of the regional sales team.
Promote a full range of product offerings, including:
New machinery and bottling equipment
Spare parts and consumables
Retrofit and rebuild programs
IT-based solutions and upgrades
Overhaul services and SLA agreements
Identify, follow up, and develop leads for new and existing clients, building strong pipelines and growth strategies.
Manage the full sales cycle from customer inquiries, technical discussions, pricing, and quotations through to final delivery and post-sale support.
Collaborate with internal departments and product specialists to deliver tailored, value-adding solutions.
Maintain and update CRM systems for forecasting, reporting, and opportunity tracking.
Travel to client sites across Southern Africa to conduct product presentations, build relationships, and participate in project meetings and strategic planning sessions.
Coordinate client communication across departments to ensure high levels of service, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
Support ad-hoc and strategic projects requiring customer interfacing and sales coordination.
Requirements:
National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred)
At least 5 years of technical experience in the beverage packaging industry
Minimum of 3 years' experience in technical sales
Strong communication, negotiation, and project coordination skills
Proficiency in SAP, CRM systems, and MS Office
Must be willing and able to travel regionally and internationally as required
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of industry-leading packaging equipment portfolios (advantageous)
Proven ability to grow and manage key accounts within technical industries
