Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Installation:

Setting up fibre optic networks, including underground and underfloor cabling.

Splicing and Termination:

Joining fibre optic cables to ensure signal transmission.

Testing and Troubleshooting:

Identifying and resolving faults in the network.

Maintenance:

Regularly checking and repairing fibre optic systems.

Customer Interaction:

Liaising with customers in person or online.
Skills and Knowledge:

Technical Skills:

Expertise in splicing, termination, and testing fibre optic cables.

Troubleshooting:

Ability to diagnose and fix network issues.

Safety Awareness:

Understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

Communication:

Effective interaction with customers and team members.

Fibre Optic Principles:

Knowledge of optical fibre technology and its applications.

Blueprint Reading:

Understanding and interpreting technical drawings.
Career Path:

Apprenticeship:

Gain hands-on experience through structured training programs.

Formal Education:

Complete a college course or specialized training in fibre optics.

Entry-Level Positions:

Start with basic tasks and progressively take on more responsibilities.

Senior Positions:

Advance to leadership roles with increased experience and expertise.

Pay: R8500,00 - R15000,00 per month
