Job Description
A Hydroponic and open land crop farm based outside East London in the Eastern Cape is seeking to employ a dynamic individual as a Grower/Manager.Skills and qualifications required
- Degree or formal qualifications in agriculture would be advantageous /min 5 years experience in horticulture
- Thorough experience in crop management from start to finish
- Fertigation experience and knowledge of fertilisers and management of irrigation using an automated system
- The ability to manage a 2.5 ha hydroponic set up.
- Staff management and delegation optimising productivity in working hours (staff of up to 50 members in full season)
- Scouting and identifying pests and diseases and the ability to implement management plans
- Knowledge in managing open field crops
