Job Description
Moorreesburg Area - Western Cape: Our client is looking for a Farm Manager to join the team.
The role requires expert planning, execution and monitoring of core farming processes such as planting, harvesting, pest control, fertilization and maintenance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualification in agriculture would be advantageous
- At least 3 years' experience in the cultivation of wheat and general animal husbandry (sheep and cattle)
- Knowledge of modern production practices
- Specific experience in driving and operating machinery with GPS guidance systems
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Cleanliness
Production
- Plant wheat, apply fertilizer, weed, pest, and plague control, harvest, monitoring, all manipulations
- Purchase and management of pest control agents and fertilizers
- Maintenance of equipment and farm infrastructure in general
- Labour planning, management and recordkeeping
- Cost control by focusing on productivity
