Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions of Farm ForePerson reporting to the Farmsxe2x80x99 Manager. The positions will be based in our operations in Lichtenburg and Bapsfontein.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

As part of the Western Farms team, he or she is to make sure all field operations are executed safely and timeously. He/she is also responsible for leading a team of equipment operators and from time to time resolve equipment breakdowns as they happen. The incumbent is responsible for the deployment of On-farm Food and Sustainability program, do xe2x80x98Off-seasonxe2x80x99 maintenance and calibration in the workshop and record the input usage per field (fertilizer, pesticides, fuel etcxe2x80xa6) in co-operation with the Farm Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
xefx82xb7 Supervise all farming operations.
xefx82xb7 Drive On-Farm Food Safety & Sustainability programs
xefx82xb7 Execute repair and maintenance on tractors and farm equipment including xe2x80x9cOff Seasonxe2x80x9d preventive maintenance
xefx82xb7 Coordinate and enable H&S activities and ensure compliance by all personnel. REQUIREMENTS:
xefx82xb7 Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
xefx82xb7 Preference will be given to candidates with at least a in Agriculture
xefx82xb7 At least 2 years farm supervision experience
xefx82xb7 Valid Code EB Drivers license
xefx82xb7 Suitable knowledge of crop production.
xefx82xb7 Knowledge of GPS systems and electronic equipment controls
xefx82xb7 Experience and skills in servicing, maintaining repairing and operating of farm machinery (specifically on auto- electrics and hydraulics).
xefx82xb7 Candidate must be safety conscious and have good supervising skills and work well under pressure. .
xefx82xb7 He or She must be able to execute jobs independent and have good communication skills
xefx82xb7 Computer literate (MS Office)
