Factory Manager - Cape TownOur client in the in the manufacturing industry in need of a Factory Manager with a minimum of 10 yearsxe2x80x99 experience. It will be expected from you to manage the plant that is situated in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with factory / plant operations and it will be expected from you to run an 18-hour operational factory with a staff compliment of 50, 6 days a week. This company supplies specifically to the building / construction industry.You will be responsible for but not limited to:Supervision / monitoring of factory operations to ensure productivity, quality, and safetyStockyard and the loading of manufactured productsCost control: Raw material & Wastage (Expenses vs budget)Staff: Two shifts, 5 supervisors xe2x80x93 manage overtimePrecast Factory: Stairs, beams and lintelsEnsure daily / weekly / monthly targets are metOversee planning and casting as well as lane strippingProduction driven ensure daily, weekly and monthly targets are metPlanning & casting as well as lane strippingManagement and communication to ensure that supervisors, operators and labourers understand the requirements of the daily tasks which have been assigned to themCapturing and reporting of daily progressOHS management ensuring the factory is managed in safe mannerMaintenance:Ensure plant and equipment/machines is checked daily by the maintenance & production teamsManage a proper preventative maintenance schedule for all machinery and plant (cleaning, lubrication, services etc.)Ensure planning is done to accommodate for production scheduleManage sourcing of materials and maintain relationships with preferred suppliersEducation / Qualification:Diploma / Degree Engineering (Mechanical / Civil / Industrial)At least 10 yearsxe2x80x99 relevant experience either in a similar role construction manager at a reputable construction companyKnowledge of concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel and pre-tension steelPreferred knowledge of mechanical equipment including, saw cutting machines, hydraulic jacks and overhead cranesExp in concrete products will be advProficiency using MS Word, MS Excel & MS PowerPointOwn transport & drivers licence essentialThis position is available immediately.
