Requirements



Higher Certificate (Occupationally Directed Education Training and

Development) or Basic Municipal police Officer/Traffic Officer



Certificate



2 years' experience as a facilitator and assessor 4 years' relevant experience within an enforcement environment

Field training officer background



Code EB driver's license Perform standby duties as per roster and instruction as and when

required



Working hours includes 24 hours shift system based on operational

requirements



Required to do on the job training and mentoring of staff as

determined by the relevant line managers as and when required



Exposure to all weather conditions Exposure to conditions associated with shooting Ranges including

but not limited to noise, smoke, long periods standing/walking



Physically fit and abled bodied for the duration of employment

Key Performance Areas



Applies basic concepts and theoretical knowledge within the law

enforcement discipline, working under guidance of a



senior/principal specialist, according to predefined procedures,



processes and standard practices



Complies with the Public Safety strategy with respect to service

delivery and executes the short term plans/objectives for the Road



Traffic, Law Enforcement and Crime Prevention functionality



Executes sequences associated with the implementation of

statutory Law and By-Laws related to public Safety, Road Traffic



Acts



Execution of specific plans associated with controlling traffic and

maintaining road safety in order to ensure adequate traffic policing



and road safety measures are instituted to protect road users and



prevent serious/fatal accidents through negligence or non-



compliance



Communicating professional knowledge in relation to training

internal clients in order to keep all affected parties fully informed
