Job Description

Hire Resolve is seeking a skilled and experienced Face Shovel Mechanic to join our client's mining operations team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the reliability of face shovel equipment crucial to our mining processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on face shovel equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Diagnosis & Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues in face shovel machinery, addressing problems efficiently.
• Component Replacement: Replace or repair faulty components, parts, and systems of face shovel equipment, following manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance programs, schedules, and procedures to prolong equipment lifespan and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts replaced, and equipment condition for reporting and reference purposes.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with supervisors, operators, and other maintenance personnel to plan and execute maintenance activities efficiently.
• Training & Support: Provide guidance and support to junior mechanics or operators regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or relevant vocational training in heavy equipment maintenance is preferred.
• 5 years of experience as a mechanic, specifically working with face shovel equipment within the mining or heavy equipment industry.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in face shovel machinery.
• Deep understanding of face shovel operations, components, and maintenance requirements.
• Commitment to adhering to strict safety protocols and practices in a mining environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and environments.
