External Sales Representative

Job Description

Job purpose



Collaborates with SM and/or MD to establish and recommend the most realistic sales goals for the Company.

Manages an assigned sales area and key products (see key product listing) to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives.

To build the sales market and Customer relationship within your assigned sales area as committed by the R. STAHL South Africa.

Find the new business/Customers by Product cross selling.

Find new industries for our Products.

Drive old business (MRO) and new business (projects) to HQ for technical and commercial assistance.

Servicing the existing customers with technical sales support and onsite visits.

Understand the market and where we best place against our competitions. Investigation of our USP vs our competitions

Duties and responsibilities.



1. Responsible for regional sales financial objectives by effective forecasting & achieving targets.

2. Preparing an annual sales budget with the SM and/or MD.

3. Preparing an annual product budget with SM and/or MD.

4. Required to hit or exceed set out monthly or quarterly sales targets.

5. Scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

6. Evaluate market trends and gather competitive information.

7. Identify trends that affect current and future growth of regional sales and profitability and disseminate information to Head Sales.

8. Record the sales opportunities in CRM and work towards conversion to orders and try to achieve a hit rate as per corporate policy.

9. Building and maintaining relationships with key customers; EPCs, End users, OEMs etc. and identifying new customer opportunities.

10. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities i.e., SAFA; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.

11. Coordination of Effective business presentation with all customers.

12. EMS - Awareness and participating in EMS Programs / Initiatives by adhering to the instructions / operation control procedures.

Pharmaceutical.

Machine building.

Food and Beverage

Area of operations.



Johannesburg, East, North, West, and South.

Pretoria, East, North, West, and South.

Potential domestic traveling

Qualifications.



Education.



South African certified Matric standard 10 / grade 12.

N3 in Electronics, Millwright, or 5 years electrical experience.

Should understand the electrical sales industry.

Specialized knowledge.



Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales Target.

Knowledge on Explosion Protection technology (OR) should have working knowledge on the EX-customer segment, End users, EPCs etc.

Must have experience in the below listing.

o Key Product listing. (20%)

o Key Customer. (40%)

o Key Industries. (40%)

Skills.



Strong selling skills.

Strong closing skills. Prior attendance at formal sales training courses a plus.

Proven oral, written, telephone and presentation skills.

Marketing experience.

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Abilities.



Ability to learn and retain product specific information and utilize to position the features and benefits to customers.

Other characteristics such as personal characteristics.



High Integrity.

Self-organizing.

Able to multitask.

Professional Certification



Will be an added advantage if any certification related to sales and marketing.

Experience



Minimum 8-10+ years field sales experience must.

Working conditions



Readiness for frequent field visits and travel anywhere within his/her region.

Physical requirements



Physically fit to work as per medical examination report.
