From 2012 to the present, Hisense's product sales in the South African market have been increasing year by year. As of 2019, Hisense's refrigerators had a sales volume share of 29% and ranked first in the South African market, with sales revenue also at 26% and ranking first. Hisense's televisions had a sales volume share of 26% and ranked first in the South African market, with sales revenue at 24% and ranking second.

Job Purpose:



The Hisense Export Lead for African Markets will spearhead the brand's expansion and localization across key African territories, ensuring alignment with the South African head office's strategic vision. This role demands a commercially astute marketer with expertise in consumer electronics, brand strategy, retail activation, and project management to drive market penetration, revenue growth, and brand dominance.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and execute market-specific strategies to establish the brand's presence in key African countries. Adapt global/regional brand direction to local consumer preferences while maintaining brand integrity. Identify and capitalise on growth opportunities in new and existing markets Align product positioning, pricing, and promotions with local consumer insights and competitive landscapes to maximise relevance and ROI. Design and implement retail activation frameworks (e.g., in-store branding, demo zones, staff training) to enhance customer engagement and conversion. Collaborate with key accounts to secure premium shelf space and drive promotional visibility Own end-to-end execution of key projects (e.g., new market entry, flagship store rollouts, Black Friday/peak season campaigns). Ensure timelines, budgets, and KPIs are met while managing stakeholders across regions. Lead relationships with media, creative, and PR agencies to develop high-impact campaigns (ATL/BTL/digital). Recommend corrective actions to address gaps in brand awareness or revenue targets.

Requirements:



5+ years in brand/product/retail marketing, preferably in consumer electronics, appliances, or technology. Proven success in expanding multinational brands in Africa (experience in Southern/East/West Africa preferred). Agency management experience (creative, media, or retail activation) is a strong plus.

Education:

Degree in Marketing, Business, or International Trade.

Adaptability: Willingness to travel across Africa as needed. Tech-savvy: Passion for consumer electronics trends (smart appliances, AI technology, etc.). Language skills: French or Portuguese proficiency (for Angola, Mozambique, Reunion). optional
