Job Advert Summary

Bidvest Tank Terminals has an opportunity for an Expeditor. This opportunity exists within the Procurement Department, based in Head Office, reporting to the Buyer. The candidate must meet the following minimum criteria.

To support the Buyer in all Procurement related activities for goods and services as required by the company.

Minimum Requirements

A relevant tertiary qualification in Purchasing / Supply Chain Management

Experience in procurement and expediting activities (preferably in petro-chemical industry)

Good working knowledge of SAP MM module will advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

Support the Buyer in all sourcing and purchasing related activities

Place and expedite purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of all goods and services

Follow up with suppliers, as needed for RFQ's and PO acknowledgement

Liaise with stores staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition

Report the delivery performance of purchase orders timeously

Effectively communicate any delays in PO delivery date to key stakeholders

Report on the Overdue PO status

Identify Cost saving and cost avoidance opportunities

Support with procurement policy & process development & reviews
