Role PurposeTo provide high-level business support to the Head of Strategic Projects, ensuring optimal efficiency in managing strategic and operational responsibilities. This role plays a critical part in enabling effective business decision-making by coordinating activities that underpin financial analysis, data insights, and reporting. The Executive Finance Associate will act as a key enabler in the CFOs office; supporting strategic initiatives, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring the seamless execution of deliverables that drive business performance.
RequirementsKnowledge:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Tax Act, Companies Act and risk management principles
  • Financial management

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Finance Degree (Accounting, Actuarial or related field)
  • CA(SA), FASSA (advantageous)
  • CFA or MBA (advantageous)
Minimum Experience:
  • 3 years experience in financial management in an insurance/financial services environment
  • Exposure to key business projects
Duties & ResponsibilitiesInternal Process
  • Coordinate and prepare executive-level reports, presentations, and briefing materials for board meetings, investor engagements, and financial results, ensuring accuracy, alignment, and professional delivery.
  • Support the CFOs office in the end-to-end execution of strategic projectsxe2x80x94tracking progress, coordinating inputs, organizing high-level meetings, and consolidating outcomes into actionable reports.
  • Collate and synthesize data from financial reports (including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements) into executive summaries that inform decision-making.
  • Assist in identifying and monitoring key financial performance indicators by liaising with finance teams and ensuring timely delivery of insights to the CFOs office.
  • Enable the CFOs contribution to long-term strategic planning by coordinating market research, gathering inputs from business leaders, and ensuring alignment of documentation and milestones.
  • Represent the CFOs office in relevant forums when required, ensuring effective communication of key messages and diligent follow-up on agreed actions.
  • Continuously drive improvements in reporting processes, meeting efficiency, and information flow within the CFOs office, contributing to operational excellence.

  • Foster strong, professional relationships with key stakeholders across Group Finance and the broader organization to support effective collaboration and information flow on behalf of the CFOs office.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence by supporting the CFOs office in delivering a consistently high standard of engagement with internal and external clients.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to enhance internal processes and communication touchpoints, ensuring continuous improvement in the CFO offices responsiveness and effectiveness.

  • Support the CFOs oversight of budgeting and financial planning processes by coordinating documentation, tracking key deliverables, and assisting with internal financial reporting logistics.
  • Help monitor financial risk activities and compliance requirements by ensuring timely submission and filing of relevant records, audit materials, and governance documentation.
  • Assist with the administration of financial processes within the CFOs office, including invoice tracking, procurement follow-ups, and budget oversight for executive expenses.
  • Promote accountability and adherence to financial controls by supporting process compliance and escalating concerns or inconsistencies when necessary.
