Executive Chef - Luxury Property Group | Namibia

Location: Remote Namibia
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a highly experienced and passionate Executive Chef for a luxury property group based in remote Namibia. This role is suited to a senior-level culinary professional who is confident working independently, has strong leadership abilities, and brings extensive knowledge of high-end hospitality in remote African locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational & Administrative Management
Oversee kitchen operations across the property, ensuring all food and service standards are upheld
Manage cost controls, procurement, and logistics in a remote environment
Maintain hygiene, food safety, and HACCP compliance at all times
Prepare kitchen rosters, maintain personnel records, and conduct regular stock takes
Compile monthly reports and submit to senior leadership
Menu Planning & Food Execution
Plan and execute a rotational menu according to brand standards
Develop innovative menus in line with international culinary trends
Maintain accurate recipe costings and manage kitchen budgets
Ensure quality control for all food served, including bush banquets and in-room dining
Monitor and evaluate guest feedback to achieve food satisfaction targets consistently above 96%
Team Development & Staff Training
Lead by example in maintaining discipline, professionalism, and high culinary standards
Train, develop and mentor kitchen staff at all levels
Foster a productive, guest-focused kitchen team
Ensure all staff are skilled, trained in hygiene, and up to date with lodge developments
Guest Interaction & Experience
Engage personally with guests to understand and accommodate dietary preferences
Create memorable culinary moments through interactive dining, themed evenings, and bush banqueting
Invite feedback and maintain high levels of guest satisfaction throughout their stay
Skills & Attributes Required:
Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); basic Setswana an advantage
Highly organised, proactive, and creative with lateral thinking abilities
Passionate about food and hospitality, with a strong understanding of remote lodge operations
Driven, ethical, and committed to service excellence
Computer literate and confident in kitchen management software
Qualifications & Experience:
Formal culinary qualification (degree or diploma from a recognised institution)
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Executive Chef role within 5-star properties
Strong background in food cost control, kitchen systems, and guest experience enhancement
Prior experience working in remote African settings preferred
Namibian citizenship or existing work authorisation for Namibia will be an advantage
