We are seeking an experienced Venue Manager to oversee operations at our Stellenbosch venue and also provide assistance at our Paarl venue. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of event planning and venue operations, ensuring flawless execution of weddings and special events while maintaining the highest standards of client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the entire event planning process from initial client consultation to post-event follow-up
Conduct venue tours and consultations with potential clients
Create and manage detailed event timelines, floor plans, and vendor coordination
Oversee venue staff during events, including service teams and support personnel
Maintain venue facilities, ensuring spaces are properly prepared for each event
Develop and nurture relationships with vendors, suppliers, and industry professionals
Handle event budgeting, invoicing, and financial tracking
Implement marketing strategies to promote venue bookings
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and licensing requirements
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years experience in event planning and venue management
Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong time management abilities and capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays when required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
Strong email communication skills
Fluency in English and Afrikaans preferred
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
Passion for hospitality and customer service excellence
Experience in wedding planning specifically, is highly advantageous
Knowledge of the Western Cape wine region and local vendor networks preferred

Location
Primary location: Stellenbosch, with regular travel to our Paarl venue as required.
