Job Description


Your expertise will be instrumental in assisting with tests and field investigations, providing invaluable data to our environmental, engineering, and scientific teams. Your insights will guide the way in determining optimal methods to control pollutants in air, water, soil, and ventilation systems.

Qualifications:

Essential: Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science or related fields (NQF 7) & SAMTRAC Certificate.

Experience:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a comparable position within Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other job-specific software systems.
  • Solid foundation in environmental assessment, monitoring, reporting, policymaking, and planning.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities and proposal drafting.
  • Deep-seated understanding of regulatory norms, interpretations, safety programs, and environmental/natural sciences principles.
Key Performance Areas:
  • Inspections: Lead environmental evaluations, assess conditions, and pinpoint hazards.
  • Sampling: Organize the collection of various samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Pollution Control: Address and rectify environmental breaches with actionable solutions.
  • Equipment Testing: Monitor machinery outputs and apply corrective measures.
  • Policy Enforcement: Uphold environmental and waste protocols.
  • Waste Management: Inspect and ensure the efficiency of waste and pollution control systems.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Propose measures for environmental impact reduction.
  • Emergency Response: Collaborate on incidents like chemical spills.
  • Data Management: Oversee hazardous site details and complaint investigations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated and ensure adherence to all environmental regulations.
  • Permit Handling: Manage environmental permits/licenses and related documentation.
  • Waste Disposal: Oversee lawful disposal and transportation of waste.
  • Integrity Assurance: Preserve the company's integrity through established procedures.
  • Risk Management: Identify and communicate potential risks.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the company at various environmental platforms.
  • Employee Training: Design and implement educational programs on environmental health and safety.
  • Reporting: Compile and share detailed environmental reports.
  • Budgeting: Assist in budget formulation and monitor expenditures.
