The Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to assist in the development and maintenance of a comprehensive, cohesive and integrated suite of environmental and land management laws and policies in the Province and between spheres of government
Minimum Requirements
Relevant Honours Degree in Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, Environmental Law, Town and Regional Planning, Environmental Sciences or related fields.

Key Performance Areas
Coordination and participation in policy and law reform processes; Promote and facilitate stakeholder engagement; Policy research and analysis; Specialist advice, awareness raising and capacity building; It will be advantageous to have experience in the following: Implementation of planning and/or environmental legislation and policies; Policy and law reform processes related to development planning and environmental management; Strategic initiatives, such development of strategies, and strategic environmental and land use planning projects; Study/courses in policy formulation and legislative drafting.

Land use and environmental legislation; environmental planning and land use planning processes; Law reform and the formulation of policy; Government administrative processes and procedures; Project management.

Remuneration
R 498 816 per annum (OSD as prescribed)
