Requirements



3 years' tertiary qualifications in People and Conservation and/or

Nature Conservation or a minimum of five years' equivalent working



experience within People and Conservation



1 to 3 years' relevant experience in the fields of People and

Conservation, Stakeholder Engagement, Community Conservation



and/or Environmental Education



Exposure to social, ecological and educational issues pertaining to

protected areas in Urban environments including basic



understanding of the social and political environment seen as



advantageous



Experience in conflict resolution with various stakeholders and

partners



Bilingual in two of three official languages of the Western Cape

(Afrikaans/ English/ IsiXhosa)



Valid code B driver's licence A valid code 10 (C 1) and a professional driving permit (PrDP) will

serve as an added advantage



Computer literate (MS Office, Microsoft Outlook) Must be physically fit (walk 3.6 km carrying an 11 kg pack within 34

minutes)



Experience of Nature Reserve management activities would be an

added advantage



Key Performance Areas



Engage with Nature Reserve-specific stakeholders, undertaking

outreach and promoting the Nature Reserve and the principles of



biodiversity conservation



Proactive community liaison, engagement, and relationship

management



Develop and implement site-specific programmes relating to

community, partnerships and stakeholder (internal and external)



engagement



Administer bookings and enquiries related to environmental

education and public liaison



Collate, manage and report on visitor user groups and other client

statistics
